Governor's Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs


Mission:  Connect small, minority, and women businesses with resources that empower them to compete with confidence in the public and private sectors, while implementing and monitoring small, minority, and women business inclusion programs
across 70 state agencies.
 
 
Vision:  Create an open and accessible culture where Maryland is open for all businesses, including those owned by minorities and women.


Under the leadership of Governor Larry Hogan and Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Maryland is open for business. We are making significant progress toward improving our statewide economy and creating more jobs by reducing or eliminating fees, modernizing Maryland's procurement systems, and removing archaic and ineffective regulations. All these actions build a climate were entrepreneurs can succeed.
 
The Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs plays an active role by serving as the principal advocate for all small businesses, including those owned by women and minorities. We set participation goals for the Small Business Reserve (SBR) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) procurement programs, establish best practices for their successful implementation, and monitor compliance by the participating agencies.
  
We also partner with the entire stakeholder community to ensure that small businesses have access to the tools needed to develop their core competency, access capital and gain policy insights so they can compete with confidence in both the public and private sectors.
